This natural black slate is a beautiful way of presenting roulades, terrines and tarts. It can also be used as an individual serving platter, with the dark background being a dramatic contrast to colourful smears, molecular ravioli and powders. As the slate is natural and hand-crafted, each board will have differently-textured surfaces. Simply wipe clean after use, and occasionally rub with olive oil to enhance its dramatic, black colour. Take care not to scratch the surface with sharp knives. Please note that the slates we are currently sending have a natural look hewn edge that is more textured than shown in the photo.
